Big TV dipancarkan melalui satelit JCSAT-13|JCSAT-8A / LIPPOSTAR-1, sebuah satelit telekomunikasi yang dipesan oleh Lippo Group bekerjasama dengan perusahaan Jepang, SKY Perfect JSat Corporation dan Mitsui Corporation. Dengan dilengkapi 11 KU Band Transponder, yang keseluruhannya mencakup ke Indonesia, LIPPOSTAR-1 saat ini memiliki jumlah transponder terbanyak di Indonesia. Hal ini memungkinkan Big TV untuk menyiarkan lebih banyak saluran televisi, baik dalam video definisi standar maupun definisi tinggi.Satelit tersebut diluncurkan pada hari Selasa (15/5/12) sore waktu Guyana Perancis, atau Rabu (16/6/12) pagi atau sekitar pukul 01.00 WIB, dan akan beroperasi dengan masa aktif mencapai 15 tahun.
