Yang dapat menghasilkan kualitas audio pada tingkat bit untuk memperluas dari lossless (24-bit, 192 kHz) ke DTS Digital Sorround, seperti Neo, downmix ke sistem 5.1 atau 2.1
DTS-HD Master Audio dipilih sebagai format audio suara Sorround pilihan untuk Blu-Ray, yang dimana telah dibatasi hingga maksimum 8 saluran diskrit. DTS-HD Master Audio mendukung laju bit yang berubah hingga 24.5 Mbit/s. Sehingga 6 channels yang encoded hingga 192 kHz atau 8 channels yang encoded pada 96 Khz / 24b bit. Semua player Blu-Ray dapat men-encode pada DTS"core" dengan kelajuan 1,5 Mbit/s sehingga jika Blu-Ray player tidak support DTS-HD Master Audio akan menjadi DTS "Core" karena didalam format audio DTS-HD Master Audio terdapat ekstensi DTS "Core".
